Position:

Enrichment Professor for after school enrichment and tutoring provider.

Duties:

Falls View Academy is calling on creative and dynamic educators for our Enrichment Professor Positions. Through our extreme learning courses each enrichment professor will have the opportunity to extend normal public school curriculum to further engage and enlighten our students. With our classes broken up by grades k-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 with sizes of 5-12 twelve students, we need several professors with a multitude of age and subject backgrounds.

Enrichment Professors will be required to develop course topics, design and implement curriculum, integrate appropriate NYS standards, orchestrate pre and post assessments, and use participant feedback and assessment results to make ongoing course improvements. As well as, participating in FVA marketing and advertising as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, Master's and Doctoral degree strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas; Going Green, Environmental Sustainability, Local History, The Arts, Languages; ASL, Latin, and Spanish, Visual learning, Computer Illustration and Animation, Logic and Cryptology, Technology, or Robotics.
  • Teaching Certification (preferred); Elem Ed, Math, English, Reading, Special Ed, ESOL.
  • Formal teaching experience required.
  • Previous experience as a college professor, enrichment teacher, or extracurricular instructor.
  • Naturally creative, out-of-the-box thinker, with experience in learning innovation and adaptation.
  • Ability to utilize research-based results and professional development to advance curriculum for increased student growth.
  • Commitment to tailoring instruction for EL Learners and students with IEP's.
  • Ability to keep student(s) engaged and enthusiastic about learning.
  • Passionate about teaching youth, and eager to make a lasting impact in a child's life.
  • Model of character and integrity.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive student relationships, communications with parents, and professional contributions to his/her school
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Timely, reliable, and accurate record keeping abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications.
  • Must have passed (or be willing to pass) a fingerprinting and background check.
